Communication Planning, as both a science that is systematic, planned, and evidence-based and an art that uses creative strategies, channel mix, and tools/materials development, can guide both organizations and individuals to reach their goals by managing and implementing communication efforts. The simple mind map above should be able to cover the most important words to remember about Unit 1 of Module 1 for Communication Planning.
Of all the tests in all the courses that we had to take this semester, this screen test was probably the most challenging one for me. For starters, I’m not good at putting on make-up. And when I eventually learned how to apply those colored products on my face, it wasn’t for the camera. It took days of practice before I felt satisfied about how my face would look in front of a camera that captures all flaws and with so much lighting.
Here’s the result of all those days of frustration over my face and angry dabs on it with baby wipes:
This has been one of the most stressful things I’ve done, to be honest. While it is necessary for BA Communication students to learn to work in teams, doing so is in no way a walk in the park under flexible learning. For starters, the internet does not like to cooperate. Whether you’re uploading something, meeting with your group, or researching for your story, the internet will not let you do that as smoothly as you want. Additionally, your equipment would simply decide that, “Nope, not today.” My groupmates and I refused to give up, but it seems our crashing laptops were the ones giving up on us.
However, like everything else, we were able to finish our group MoJo. In this video, we report about democracy, voter education, media literacy, COVID vaccination, and a local community pantry. You can watch it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jgpkAwNhAbIfSjkhWi1HyEgDq_kYXAeh/view?usp=sharing
You can’t really shoot a perfect MoJo in one take. You’re human. You make mistakes. You go and try again. Here’s a version of my MoJo about the community pantry in our barangay that didn’t make it to the final cut of our group MoJo: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IU8JRLZ95V1gK4W6KJJ0RulCTiOqjMYC/view?usp=sharing
Mobile journalism is one of the ways that we, BA Communication students, can practice our craft while limited by the pandemic. This MoJo contains a brief report on the two webinars in our program during this second semester.
